Thailand’s New Animal Hospital Is The First Of Its Kind, Making Massive Strides In A Country Overrun With Strays
By Victoria Lange
Thailand has a new animal hospital that is the first of its’ kind! This animal hospital is solely dedicated to helping stray dogs. The population of stray dogs in Thailand is exponential and this hospital is dedicated their time and skills to make sure that homeless pooches receive the medical attention that they need.
The hospital is located in Phuket, Thailand and run by the Soi Dog Foundation. On average the hospital houses and treats up to 250 dogs a month! In addition to providing these pups with a slew of medical services from spaying/neutering to hydrotherapy, this animal hospital also helps these furry creatures find their forever homes! And the best part of all is that the staff of this animal hospital refuses to give up on their patients. They take challenging cases in stride and do everything in their power to aid the pup in question. Take, for example, Sairung.
Sairung is a puppy that was critically injured after a car had hit her. She was only a few weeks old at the time of the incident, and she was left so badly injured that she was unable to walk. The staff from this animal hospital rescued her. They took her to their facility, cleaned and wrapped her wounds, and began diligently working on her recover.
From the beginning of her stay at this amazing animal hospital, Sairung was a happy puppy. But try as she might, she was still unable to walk. They provided her with hydrotherapy and tried helping her stand, unfortunately the damage to her nerves were just too much for them to overcome. But that didn’t stop them. While they were unable to fix Sairung’s hind legs, they were, instead, able to get her fitted with a doggie wheelchair and teach her how to use it. Now, Sairung is running around happily and it is all thanks to this wonderful new animal hospital and their dedicated staff.
